"Room had great design and flow. Breakfast was consistently delicious. Only hiccup was at check in when we were told they found our reservation but had no rooms available due to issues with not having enough housekeeping staff and we would be referred to a different hotel 10 miles away. This was resolved when the manager came 2 minutes later and opened up a recently cleaned room. Another plus was when the entire city of Portage lost power due to severe weather storms. "The elevator was broken, and the fitness room was not open during the stated hours, so I had to track down an employee to let me in. Once I was let in, the water fountain was also broken in the fitness room and there were no cleaning supplies or wipes for the equipment. They had a sign on the broken water fountain, saying that you could request a complimentary water bottle from the front desk but the front desk was not staffed any time that I was in the lobby."

"We reserved and paid for a room here — which the property confirmed that day — but when we arrived, the staff was difficult to find, and when she eventually came out she said there were no rooms available. She was extremely rude and did not explain or help redirect us to another property nearby. Luckily, the Expedia help line was able to find another room for us."

Things got left behind that weren't cleaned up or thrown away, the floor in the bathroom was completely dirty & sink as well. "Nice, newer hotel conveniently located directly off Highway 30. Easy access to downtown Valparaiso. I especially liked the floor was NOT carpet. Quibble - windows do not open. Breakfast was good. "Tina" at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel."

"Parking was a little bad the 2nd night but we did get back late. Im sure it wouldnt have been bad if there wasnt 4 cars taking up more then one spot. Overall stay was fantastic!"

"Overall, this was a nice stay. The sliding door to the patio seemed to need a little bit of maintenance and TLC. The room had a smoky smell upon entering that quickly dissipated. It is possible that that was from someone outside? We would consider staying there again."
