"Proper hotels are rather thin in this area but this one is a gem! Staff is excellent and very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean and spacious with great amenities for longer stays. The lakeside swings and fire pit is a wonderful bonus and nighttime sky viewing is excellent! WiFi needs a bit of a refresh in areas of the hotel but overall very good. Access from the rear parking area into the hotel is pretty much nonexistent so plan to walk to the front lobby entrance if you have to park in the rear lot (usually not a problem). The hotel restaurant is great and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Watch the hours as they are not a late-night dining spot! Ground floor laundry is very convenient and well kept and stocked. This is our “go-to” stay when visiting the western Michigan U.P. and thankfully keeps us out of Houghton’s college town mess and expense without being so far away as to make it inconvenient when we need to resupply at larger stores (Wal-Mart, etc.). Give this place a try if you are visiting the area!"

"Clean hotel and nice area. Good amenities like pool, hot tub, and breakfast. The check in staff wasn’t the friendliest and seemed kind of annoyed we used Expedia to book. She mentioned it a couple of times and was kind of rude when we asked some basic questions about our room. Overall a nice experience. Maybe she was just having a bad day. "

"The room was wonderful except for the shower. Dated and didn’t drain well. The windowsill was also dirty but we didn’t mind. We stayed in the 3 queen bed room with a medium size party. Breakfast was the basics but good! The staff was beyond helpful! We had an apt that ended at 11 and the staff gave us grace in leaving a few minutes past check out. The adult swim time is awesome. The hot tub was great, adults only tub was a bonus. Sauna was excellent. I would stay here again. Traveled with grandparents and teens."
