"Rooms were nice and staff was friendly. Property was fine. They are definitely on vacation time as meals are slow (2+ hours for a meal). The restaurants leave a bit to be desired. Poesia was not great at all - probably the worst meal in our party we had in the whole island and the worst Italian. The place is new but the chef is trying to be too creative with limited access to ingredients. A few people had a shrimp dish with tomatoes and no-one had tomatoes in it. Azure is okay - mediocre. "I booked this property through Expedia under stressful circumstances — Barbados air traffic controllers went on strike, my flight was canceled, and I was stranded along with many other travelers. I originally planned to stay two nights but realized that it was just not for me - ( I had originally came from the popular tourist area and needed to backfill two nights ) although they realized it was just not my style both hosts went above and beyond to accommodate me as much as possible and even worked to get me a refund for the next night - the place is lovely and quiet and perfect for anyone looking for just that! "A charming, older hotel with a fantastic view. Smaller in size, painted in tropical colors, it had a casual, homey feel. We had an issue with the shower head and it was fixed within hours; housekeeping does an excellent job. The mattress was nice and firm. Air conditioning works perfectly. The balcony had had a fantastic view of the sea. A quiet, relaxing vacation spot."

"no airport shuttle but Lea arranged a taxi and negotiated a price did not look for a gym! Staff were excellent, from Lea at reception to the great waiters and support staff. Very friendly and helpful. Cab from port is very expensive, $20 US pp. Lea said we were overcharged but you have limited choice at port"
