"Fresh food, both dinner and breakfast were good. The staff were very friendly. Probably the biggest positive was the low room rate. I was very surprised to get my final bill. I think foreign tourists will love the combination pub/hotel."

"Really enjoyed our overnight stay. The twin room was spacious, beds and pillows so comfortable, and plenty of hot water for showers. The initial problem with the heating was sorted out very quickly. We had our evening meal here, and can highly recommend the food. What really stands out at The Carpenters Arms, is the staff. Many thanks to Richard, Holly and Paula and to everyone that helps make this such a great place. We would certainly be happy to stay again. "

"What stood out for us was the support we had. My daughter's baby was born very premature in the local hospital. I spoke to the hotel and they were willing to give us a good price on a room as we didn't know how long we would need it for. They gave us a family room with an extra bed. They put a fridge in the room for expressed milk to be kept until it could be taken to the hospital. The hotel location was perfect as it's walking distance. "Debra and Drew were very welcoming hosts. We used The Barn as a lauch pad to visit Chartwell and Knole. Perfect choice. The accommodation was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. We were spoilt for choice regarding local eateries. We chose The White Hart for dinner and it was top knotch. "

"Short business trip so was just looking for a cheap place to stay. Single room with all the essentials in a modern block of conference centre type rooms. The main building though is an old country house and is beautiful and used as a wedding venue. Breakfast included was very good. Would have liked to have stayed longer so I could look around the estate."
