"Staff were helpful and friendly but property is very tired. Paint is peeling in bathrooms and bedroom, and the room smelt slightly damp. There were no electric sockets near headboard, we needed an extension cable running across the room. Corridor was in severe need of vaccuming. The property needs redecorating and deep cleaning."

"Really enjoyed our overnight stay. The twin room was spacious, beds and pillows so comfortable, and plenty of hot water for showers. The initial problem with the heating was sorted out very quickly. We had our evening meal here, and can highly recommend the food. What really stands out at The Carpenters Arms, is the staff. Many thanks to Richard, Holly and Paula and to everyone that helps make this such a great place. We would certainly be happy to stay again. "

"My wife and I have stayed at The Mount Edgecumbe several times, and it never disappoints. The hotel is old but very well-maintained and stylish. Our room was second to none, and then we came to breakfast in the conservatory. Absolutely lovely. Well worth the money, and the staff are really a step above the norm. Well done to all. "

"The manager was lovely and showed us around the room and let us know any key things we needed to know. "Very spacious room with all that was required to have a relaxing break. Extremely comfortable bed, gorgeous bath and refreshing shower. Plenty of tea and coffee. There was some outside noise, but we fully expected that when booking a high street hotel on a main road, and it certainly didn’t detract from our stay. Definitely stay again and would spend more time in the hotel, where this time we went to explore the town"
