I just had the worst experience at Hilton grand Rapids michigan I paid for my room on Expedia had my itinerary number my receipt everything the mean woman refused to even look my itinerary number stating I had to be at the wrong place or I should have book directly through them , then told me to go to another hilton as she was sure i was wrong she told me I had no booking mind you she never asked my name or itinerary number i went outside called Expedia who assured me I was at right place and told me to go back inside I also checked my account I was charged alot for this booking . She then made me sit for 30 mins refusing to check my name or itinerary number stating she does like Expedia and she will not waste her time looking for atleast 30 mins mind you I've been here now well over 30 minutes and I booked around an hour ago, it's been a very long day this hotel charged me so much to treat me like trash . And what can you even do customer service sucks and you can't do anything about it or your a Karen. I travel Alot so really crappy impression Hilton grand Rapids really crappy

My daughter had surgery scheduled in the GR area, so our trip wasn’t planned for fun. However, we were close enough to the Zoo (few minute drive) to check out the Lantern Festival on the first night. The hotel wasn’t in the city, so it was quiet even though it was just a few miles north. The hotel was very newer, very clean and modern. The lobby was inviting. My daughter and I actually spend the evening post surgery down in the lobby playing board games and hanging out on the egg chairs inside the lobby. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Pool seemed smaller and there was not a hot tub (those things didn’t bother me, but just giving a heads up). However, the lobby and outdoor area definitely offered more. I would recommend this hotel to friends/family, and I do plan on staying here again during our mid summer visit.

Another 5 star stay. The staff are A plus. Always professional and there for your needs. Very clean and beautiful property. The only thing I can complain about, is that there needs to be a sign showing turn to property.

Thank you for your Wonderful review! If we could have a sign we definitely would. The Tru brand is designed to be minimalistic and eco friendly. So Hilton wants to try and lessen the carbon foot print and only allows the Tru brand so much signage.

No fault of anyone but the building standards. The building was built without enough sound proofing and the wrong flooring so it was very noisy. It's a shame because with a little more attention to building practices this property could have been a great place to stay.

I'm so sorry you experienced any noise issues during your stay. It was the busiest weekend in grand rapids and mostly every hotel was sold out with sports teams. We do the best we can to control the noise but there is only so much the staff can do. We really try to have the parents handle their kids but that doesn't always happen. Next time you stay with us we do have ear plugs at the front desk! We do everything to try and accommodate our guests.

The facility was beautiful. Signage was terrible. I am a single woman driving to hotel at midnight from airport. Mapquest lead me to hotel but absolutely not signs for hotel on main road. To be completely honest, it was very scary. I thought maybe I just missed the signs. But, leaving in the morning, I still didn’t see any. **The front desk clerk that night 4/14, was absolutely fantastic. She made me feel like she was waiting for me! Knew my name when I walked in ❤️

Im so sorry your stay didnt start well. Due to the branding of the Hotel Tru's are supposed to be minimalistic which includes our signage. If you ever have trouble find the hotel we definitely recommend using a GPS service or calling the hotel and asking the best route. Again i am so sorry you felt scared and uncomfortable. I will also let the staff member know how welcome she made you feel! Hopefully we will see you again next time!

The check in was great, Katherine at the front desk was very helpful. The problem was some guest didn't comply with the quiet hours, at 11pm loud bass thumping was going on till about 3 am. We called the front desk at midnight and said they would address it. Nothing, the music did stop at 3 am. Wasn't a restful night. Friday April 12

The lady st the front desk was extremely kind and even called me right away when I accidentally left a bag downstairs by the lobby. Rooms were very clean and the hotel lobby had fun games for my daughter and I to play. Also, great complimentary breakfast with more kind staff the following day.

Whoever was at front desk in the evening of 3/2/24 was fantastic! She was a true joy, very courteous, very professional, and also very welcoming. Later that night I discovered that there wasn't a remote to the TV in my room, and I called down and they found one for me within 15 minutes. Always very happy with my stays here.

We always love staying at Tru properties. I will say that the change to the pancake maker from the waffle maker is unfortunate. That might be my families preference though and can't be held against the property. My wife went to get some breakfast, albeit a bit late, but the pancake machine was down, there was no milk, and no cereal available.

Thank you for your response. We do get that comment a lot about the waffles. Its good to hear these comments so we can let Hilton know in hopes one day we get the waffles back! I'm sorry you missed breakfast. Unfortunately in the slow season we do closed down right at the end time so food doesn't go to waste. But we always like to help out so if a guest asks if there is anything they can get even though breakfast had just closed we do our best to get them something. Sorry that was a long response! We hope to see you next time and hopefully can get to breakfast next time!!
