Rectory Farm
8/10 Good
"It's a lovely building close to the M11 in lovely grounds with parking. What I didn't like was check in at 4pm, it's out of step with most other places which are 3pm. Most hotels can get the rooms ready 11-3pm. The room was very small and the style was very dated, the rooms away from the main building are not well signed and a room for 2 people had no hand towels, 2 bath towels and the only toiletries was a minuscule bar of soap, no shower gel or shampoo. All hotels supply more than that and most people would expect them, you get more than that at a Travelodge. It was made worse by the fact there were no shops nearby and the vending machine stock was low of every thing and the cost was too high £2 for a bag o crisps , £3 for a can of cola. It's is presented as an upmarket hotel but it's very disappointing, dated and not great value. The main building is impressive but the interiors of the chalet rooms feel like an old people's home and are in desperate need of renovation, it could be amazing but unfortunately it's outdated and mumsey at best."

ibis Cambridge Central Station
10/10 Excellent
"I needed a room that would mean I could step off my train and within minutes be in my room . The Ibis more than exceeded my expectations raoid check in great room friendly staff and an excellent breakfast made this trip a success."

Mercure Bedford Centre Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Although the property has been superficially updated, the core fabric is still the hotel I knew nearly 20 years ago. The windows with secondary double gazing left 2 options - to open the small window and sffer the rattling noise from the metal frames or close the window and slowly cook. A poor night’s sleep spoiled my stay in Bedford."

Cambridge Belfry Hotel & Spa
4/10 Poor
"Started off well with the check in process and everything going off smoothly. The pool was good, and the staff were friendly. So, the reason I'm giving it two stars? I couldn't sleep. In the middle of a heat wave, I spent the whole night in an unconditioned room, where there wasn't even a fan or means to circulate the air. The window could only open by a measly inch (not sufficient enough to allow any type of "breeze"). Out of an entire evening, I probably slept for about 30 minutes, and woke in a pile of sweat. Had to have a shower multiple times throughout the night just due to heat of the room. The morning came and I couldn't wait to leave, I swear going outside (in the sun) was actually cooler than the room- at least I got a breeze. The lack of sleep and desperation to leave probably hasn't helped me have the most positive look on breakfast. Which I could honestly say, a whetherspoons breakfast would've been better quality, and cheaper. Also, word of warning, in the small print somewhere it probably says they'll take an extra £50 on top of your booking payment before you're allowed to check-in (this is refundable without hastle when you leave), however, without reading the fine print, this could come as an unwelcome suprise, especially if you're trying to tightly budget. I went to a Belfry before in Nottingham and loved it. So it was a shame to be so disapointed by this one. Mind you, it was during autumn, and the room was likely cooler, and I could sleep."

Wilde Cambridge City Centre
8/10 Good
"Very nice hotel well situated, car parking is a major issue , underneath the hotel is a council run car park, to park there for 24 hours would cost over £50 per day and trying to charge your car for electric vehicles is a joke no Wi-Fi poor signal, the car parking is empty. That are only criticism."

Hyatt Centric Cambridge
10/10 Excellent
"Fantastic hotel, staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, although we only stayed for 1 night and had to leave before breakfast started so didn’t get to try out all of the facilities but we made use of the little coffee shop in the reception area. The hotel is in a great location if you don’t want to stay right in the centre. There’s a bus stop outside the hotel and the park and ride is only a short walk away from the hotel. We decided to walk back in the evening, it was around a 3km walk and took around 30 mins so easily doable if you don’t mind walking. Would definitely recommend and stay again if we visit Cambridge"

"To pay for parking at a hotel you are staying at - is a bit of a joke."

"From check in to check out the staff were helpful and friendly. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were upgraded and welcomed to our room with rose petals and champagne! Breakfast choice was great, we picked off the to order menu. Easy walk into Cambridge. Definitely will stay again."
