"Do not stay here. Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and the owner was incompetent - there was no apparent cause but for around an hour it kept tripping again so eventually I tried (without success) to sleep in my car. The hotel was dirty, no-one was available to help/serve breakfast etc, items such as milk in the kitchen fridge were out of date. It is a very old unmodernised property."

"Hoops Inn is a lovely Grade II building with history. It has a lovely garden, although on a steep incline so may not be suitable for anyone with walking difficulty. The staff are very welcoming & helpful. Lovely freshly cooked breakfasts with good quality produce."

The room lacked a TV, but actually this was an absolute blessing and it made change not to reach for a remote control. "Arrived late at our stay and then realised that we had in fact booked for the weekend after! Disaster after a 6 hour drive and very little options. We apologised and explained the error to our host. Amazingly and also luckily the host immediately went to work setting up an alternative glamping pod for us to stay in. The place was immaculate, hosts are extremely friendly and everything about the trip was perfect and as described. We will certainly be returning."

"Cute little cabin in a quite pretty location. Basic, but worth the money if you want a value for money private accommodation. My only comments (not complaint as these things don’t bother me). It was cold when I got there, it would have been nice if the heating could have been put on before arrival. The floor is freezing - bring slippers.
