"It took around 45 mins to check in as there was only one staff member, my room had cigarette burns in the bath, the main light didn’t turn on, the lamp flashed on and off constantly, there was an iron burn in the carpet and the table wasn’t even screwed together, I complained and was offered a ten percent discount, after going back and forth they put us in a suite and that too had cigarette burns in the bath. I wouldn’t stay here for free"
"Our stay was very average for such a grand hotel. The room felt like we were stopping in the servants quarters rather than a nice hotel. It was small and basic but clean and we got a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good. Parking here can be difficult if you turn up in the evening and there is a charge. Great location for all that Buxton has to offer and very convenient for the many restaurants and bars."
