"Quiet location"

"We had a restful sleep and enjoyed the sitting area. Breakfast was lovely with views of the fabulous gardens! We would love to come back☺️"

"Hotel stay was okay for one night (but not much better). Older hotel in need of upgrade and repairs. Bathroom countertop broken and taps difficult to turn off. Breakfast was vouchers for fast food at the highway rest stop (and was only accepted as some (not all) vendors in the food fair. As foreign travellers we did not underestand that this hotel was located at the rest stop for a toll highway. ... Will give Days Inn by Wyndham a pass next time, as this is similar to our previous...

"Unfortunately not my best visit here - visited several Times - checked in quite late - went straight to my room for a bath - no hot water ! - then headed down stairs for a bit to eat - had the same as my previous visit ( chicken bourguignon which was great last time) - unfortunately this time it was reheated microwaved mush - so headed to bed , unfortunately for me I was woken up by rocking headboards at 1.30 ( my neighbour was obviously having a better night than me ) thin walls between rooms...

"I have to say I waa really surprised at how nice this place was. The only issue for me (being a bigger bloke) was i couldn't fit in the shower as it only has a s.mall opening but I was able to get around ."

"The room was very clean and tidy! Staff are very friendly, the breakfast is amazing very filling! And the parking is very easy too access but when there are a few guests staying the car park can get very tight, overall really good and best bit its only 17 mins drive too Alton towers from there "

"Check in was no frills. We arrived half an hour before check in and was offered a room but for an extra fee. I accidentally booked the room for one person so had to pay an extra £12 for breakfast which was fair enough but on check out an additional £10 for the extra person which I thought was unfair."

"No Ventilation in toilets not even the room was. No tv. No remote controller was present for tele. Facilities like microwave or freezer either common or share should provided. Voices and noises from next rooms were disturbing."

"Perfect for a stop over from the Scotland to the south coast. Great size family room with 3 proper beds (2 single and a double) great for a family. Dog friendly too!"

"Dog friendly, helpful staff great for an overnight break on a long journey ( both ways!) Easy access from the M6 making a break from motorway driving. Penkridge is a really interesting place to stay and take a break on a long journey. Very welcoming villager and quiet away from the main road. However the pub is a little noisy at night ( we stayed on a hot summers night!)"

Rooms are clean and comfortable, the bar and restaurants offer a good range of food and drink and the wife particularly enjoys taking a dip in the indoor pool. Staff are friendly and efficient. "Beautiful old main building and well constructed new wing that blended seamlessly with the old main Hall. However, due to the layout and lack of lifts it meant a really long walk from our room to the main reception area. The Hotel seemed to have a lack of staff - the very nice mature lady at reception, was multitasking and ended up carrying our bags up to the room. This staff shortage manifested itself later when we went to have dinner - to be told that the gas was off in the kitchen and...
