We stayed 7 nights at Ilima Hotel with kids. The hotel itself is clean and decent, and the kitchenette was useful. However, our room faced the White Sands Hotel night club, and loud music played every night from ~8:30 PM until 2:00 AM.
We were on the 5th floor, and the noise was clearly audible due to non-soundproof windows. Kids couldn’t sleep, and there were frequent loud screams outside. We could only sleep once the music stopped.
Another issue was weed smoke entering the room through the AC, which felt unsafe for children.
Hotel staff acknowledged the issue but only offered a paid room upgrade. No proactive resolution. This appears to be a known issue based on other reviews.
Resort fee was $47/night, but on Christmas Day there were no beach towels available.
Pros: clean room, kitchenette, laundry available
Cons: severe nighttime noise, air quality issues, poor resolution
Not recommended for families or longer stays if the room faces White Sands Hotel.
