Our stay started off extremely poorly. We arrived around 2:00 PM and had prepaid approximately $4,300 in full at booking, expecting to pay only the $48/night destination fee and daily valet parking at check-in.
During check-in, the front desk agent charged my credit card another $4,300, stating there was no record of payment. After I provided my receipt and confirmation number, he admitted the charge was a mistake. Despite this, I was told the duplicate charge could not be refunded until checkout, leaving me with an unnecessary charge on my card for the duration of our stay and additional processing time afterward.
Check-in issues continued. Although official check-in was 3:00 PM, our room was not ready on time, resulting in nearly an hour waiting in the lobby. Once keys were issued, we still could not access our room due to intermittent elevator outages. Assigned to the 29th floor, we waited roughly another hour for elevator service.
After finally reaching our room, our luggage was delayed an additional hour due to the elevator issues. After a long flight, we were unable to settle in or even shower. I offered to retrieve our luggage myself but was told I would have to do so without a luggage cart or continue waiting.
Between the duplicate charge, lack of immediate resolution, late room readiness, elevator failures, and luggage delays, this was an unacceptable start to a stay at this price point.
