"There was no pool and aircon was only in room, possibly in the resto downstairs, but in no common areas. Lovely staff, good food, nice decor and art. Lots of stairs. Airport shuttle was reasonable and good. "

"Hotel with a unique, cool interior. Missing a safe and refrigerator in the room. There was a problem with the water supply in the shower, the water ran out in the middle of the shower. Experienced the same with the faucet in the sink. Also felt there was a bit of visibility into the shower area from the other buildings around."

"Lovely place located in the middle of Stone Town. Decent beds. Lovely staff! Be aware: No curtains to keep the room dark in the morning. No fridge so your water will be hot. No turndown service with mosquito spray."

"The breakfast was definitely an interesting and so the second day we went out for breakfast. Staff in the hotel was great! However the Halls echo big time so when a cleaning person or other staff members in the whole talking to the staff member it's so loud it literally will wake you up in the middle of your room. Moving chairs or anything like that is just super loud.... The location is super and the hotel is great it just generally could tweak a few things to make it a little bit more...

"The staff were amazing....very helpful, friendly and ready to go out of their way to help the guests. Room was small, but clean and the bed was comfortable. Located in the heart of Stone Town so it's close to most places of interest. I will stay again."

"This property is in a quiet location in Stone Town within walking distance of the Darajani Bazaar and other attractions. The staff is great: Lulu, Jamila, Roderick, Iddi, and director Daniela go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The A/C in the room works very well, and the breakfast buffet (which is included) is outstanding. It's a great value and I'd recommend staying here."

"This hotel is excellent. The staff (including the owner) is phenomenal. Everyone is so accommodating and welcoming. The staff speaks English and provides concierge service (directions, booking drivers/transportation and excursions). They were all concerned for my well-being and safety. The food at the restaurant was tasty. The pool is clean, warm, and aesthetically pleasing. The beds include a mosquito net to protect you. The air conditioning is nice and cold. "The location is excellent—nothing in Stone Town is more than a 10-minute walk, which made it easy to get around. The only drawback is that the hotel is located down an alleyway where cars cannot access. If you’re traveling with luggage, you’ll need to ask your taxi driver to arrange for a concierge to come and assist. The first room we were given was very small and extremely hot and never properly cooled down. After the first night, we requested a larger room. While we appreciated being...
