"Staff were attentive and polite. Room was a bit too hot for sleeping. Breakfast was excellent quality but the high end restaurant was expensive for the quality of food. Also only had 3 options for children which was not great. Swimming area was lovely. "

"Plenty of parking ( large car park round the back). Staff very helpful , bar and bear good, room good size, clean ,but carpet and decoration a little tired. Also fire doors in the corridors slammed. Also fan in bathroom did not work,reported to hotel."

"Good hotel and comfortable bed. Had cancel the second night as the hotel was closed. Access for an 81 year old was very difficult. Lots of stairs to manage. The very cold weather made it even more difficult. The manager was very good and helpful. We hope to get a refund for the second night. The location was excellent and the pub was very quirky and quite special. "

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. The area is beautiful but with only one night, we didn’t get the change to do much exploring. Next time. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay."

"It was in such a great location! We loved the pub was downstairs and served such great food and drinks! It was nice to walk upstairs and not have to worry about driving. Free parking was nice. Breakfast was just cereal, cold croissant, and a banana but at least it was free. The room was cute but the ceiling was pretty low. My boyfriend had to duck a lot and couldn’t stand in the shower but he is 6’6”. The bath tube was really nice and relaxing! Staff was great as well and helpful! The room was...

"Everything was excellent. Staff who expertly served a table of 24, courteous, efficient, polite. Food was amazing. Room was outstanding. All staff were lovely, approachable and helpful. Added bonus was a welcome for breakfast and more delicious food. Absolutely stunning all round"

"The manager was lovely and showed us around the room and let us know any key things we needed to know. The room was absolutely lovely, proper cosy country vibes and loved the special touch of a large bottle of sparkling and still water and cookies in our room. Would highly recommend as place to stay! "Well located to shops, restaurants, bus, and walking distance to the train station, but room was pretty basic. Many eateries in the area which serve when the in house catering is closed (open 10:00-3:00). Building is old, so not surprised by some minor plumbing issues. Staff friendly and helpful."

"Outstanding value for this hotel. Spotlessly clean, and one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. Quiet, convenient to shopping, and not far from LGW we are SO GLAD to have found this property. Meals in the hotel bar were excellent and decent portions. Unreservedly recommend."

"Lovely pub hotel, close to Gatwick airport. We had an upstairs room in the separate annex outside the main building. Very spacious room, clean bathroom, and comfy bed. Had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent (if a little pricey). Was leaving for the airport at 7:30am and breakfast started from 8, so they prepared us a very substantial packed breakfast to go. Overall excellent value for money and would certainly stay again and recommend."
