"Beautiful old Manor House converted into a hotel. Very quiet location, plenty of parking facilities, staff were very friendly and welcoming. Lovely restaurant overlooking the grounds, breakfast was beautifully cooked and served. I’d certainly use this hotel again."

"The breakfast was good. Plenty of selection but I don't think all of it was cooked fresh. The bacon was very hard and not easy to cut. The toast was not as one would expect toast to be, it seemed as if it was bread that was put in a pan with oil and served. But nothing was too much trouble for the staff."

"Absolutely horrible do not stay here!! Unclean rooms, unhelpful & not present staff, things hanging off their hinges. Was also denied a cancellation when i expressed safety concerns about my room. I even found previous tenants clothes in the draws, shavings in the sink, old soap bars."

"Not the first time we have stayed here, but sadly seems to be in a steady decline. Room was dusty, and cobwebs, the furnishings are worn and just doesn't feel clean. Our biggest issue though was being told the restaurant closed about 8pm at 7.55pm, a Hotel on a Saturday evening not serving food, added to that the bar was closed too. Not what you would expect from what should be a great hotel experience, staff all seemed very indifferent. Would not stay there again "

"Our room was lovely with a hot tub on the terrace. However the terrace needed cleaning and although we mentioned this it didn’t happen. The shower over the bath was difficult to get in & out . Side of bath very high & water was difficult to balance. Again we mentioned this but it stayed the same. When I booked I requested a walk- in shower. I was told I’d need to upgrade& pay more. I was entitled to an upgrade but it didn’t happen. There was a problem on the first morning with breakfast - burnt toast. & overdone eggs. When we told them the hotel were most apologetic & the next day it was perfect. Also they arranged a free boat trip for us. & adjusted our bill so we felt that they had done all they could to rectify the situation . It’s a beautiful hotel & if we hadn’t had the few hiccups it would have been 5 stars all the way. The Spa was excellent. "

"A handy location in the Thames Valley close to the riverside with railway station a short walk away and right next to bus stops. Rooms designed for single people attending conferences, seminars etc so not large but they have a double bed and all l needed for a short stay. Breakfast served in bright atrium area. Good poached eggs cooked to order. Places to eat in the village but mainly gastro pubs. Happy to stay again."
