In this scenic zone, beaches packed with sunbeds and bars enclose the black-and-white stripes of the historic lighthouse at the point where the river meets the sea.

Faro is the charming coastal district surrounding the Faro di Piave Vecchia lighthouse on the mouth of the Fiume Sile or Piave River. Bars and cafés line the sandy beaches, which are dotted with the blue of umbrellas and deck chairs. Walk out along the pier stretching into the Adriatic Sea and look back at the tall lighthouse.

Take a leisurely stroll along the banks of the river and admire the bobbing boats in the Marina del Cavallino area. At the river mouth, you’ll spot the black-and-white stripes of the Faro di Piave Vecchia lighthouse, whose 157-foot (48-metre) cylindrical tower dwarfs surrounding structures. It was constructed in 1948 to replace a former lighthouse that had guided ships to avoid hazards in the area’s waters for 100 years. A helical staircase leads to the summit. Today port authority workers use the site for offices.

Several camping areas are dotted around this scenic and tranquil zone. Bring your family to stay overnight in a tent at one of these beachside grounds. You can also stay at one of the hotels lining the rear of Lighthouse Beach.

Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy a relaxing meal on the sands of the beautiful beach along the Adriatic Sea. Rent a deck chair and bask in the sun, before cooling down with a dip in the gentle water. As dusk approaches, watch the sun go down and enjoy a drink from the terrace of a bar.

The Faro neighbourhood is concentrated around the Fiume Sile or Piave River delta in the southwestern outskirts of Jesolo. The lighthouse is actually on the Cavallino side of the river. Drive southwest from the centre of Jesolo for 15 minutes to reach the lighthouse or take a bus to a nearby stop. Visit other attractions on the way, such as Piazza Tomaso Nember, Adventure Golf Jesolo and Aqualandia water park.
