Coconut Palms Beach Resort II, an Ascend Collection Hotel
6/10 Okay
"We liked the proximity to the beach and the condo feel to this hotel. Full kitchen and separate bedroom from the living space. You can tell the property is old but with a few renovations. We were upset that the tiki bar was closed for the whole stay. That was one of the draws for us to book here."

Bahama House
10/10 Excellent
"The rooms are comfortable, and what truly sets this hotel apart is its people. Nick at the front desk and Sandy were as warm and welcoming as the Florida sun itself. Sandy, in particular, shared a story that stopped me in my tracks. She first came to this hotel in the late nineties as a young woman, helping her mother who served as head of housekeeping. That one visit turned into a lifelong career. Over the decades, she has worked in nearly every role the hotel has to offer, watching it grow from a small, cozy lobby into the beautiful oceanfront establishment it is today. In that time, Sandy has welcomed guests from countries all over the world, and some families have been returning for so long that she has watched their children grow from toddlers into adults. That kind of continuity and connection is rare, and it tells you everything you need to know about the soul of this place. The hotel is clean and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Whoever you are, this is your place. The complimentary breakfast is basic at best: sugary, packaged, and not something I'd rely on. The coffee and tea are equally forgettable, do yourself a favor and head out to one of Daytona's great breakfast spots. You won't have to look far."

Days Inn by Wyndham Daytona Oceanfront
2/10 Terrible
"I stayed at this hotel last night and it was one of the most disappointing and uncomfortable hotel experiences I’ve ever had. We arrived after 9:30 p.m., and the first thing we noticed was the overwhelming smell of marijuana throughout the lobby and hallways. The coffee pots were sitting half‑full on the burners, giving off a burnt, sour smell that made me feel nauseated. The first room we were assigned was directly to the left of the front desk. It had no window, only a sliding door facing the outdoor walkway by the stairs, and that door had been screwed shut. The room was extremely small, poorly maintained, and had burn marks on the nightstand that looked like someone had been smoking or using drugs in the room. The walls had stains, the smell was awful, and the space felt unsafe and unlivable. When we asked to cancel, the receptionist told us we would not receive a refund. Instead, she offered an “upgrade” to an ocean‑view room for an additional $42. I went to check it, and it smelled exactly the same. Nothing about it felt like an upgrade. After several back‑and‑forth conversations, we finally went to the room around 11 p.m., grabbed only part of our belongings, and left the hotel entirely by 7 a.m. because the conditions were that bad. I do not recommend staying at this location. I’ve stayed at other Days Inn properties and had good experiences, but this one felt neglected, unkept, and unsafe."

Best Western Aku Tiki Inn
8/10 Good
"The room was very nice. This hotel is a about 5 minutes down the road from all the action. It's in a quieter part of town and a less crowded part of the beach. The bar was not open very often at night, but did seem to serve breakfast daily."

"Very convenient and family affordable"

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Oceanfront by IHG
4/10 Poor
"Extremely disappointing stay and I would not return or recommend this hotel. We stayed on the 11th floor with two young children and were never told at check-in that 1 of the 2 elevators was completely out of service. They simply placed a wet floor sign in front of it. Because only one elevator was working, wait times were often 30-45 minutes since it had to stop on nearly every floor. Many times it was already packed full or had luggage carts taking up space, so we couldn’t even get on. Being on the 11th floor with small children, repeatedly taking the stairs was not realistic. Our room door was also difficult to open and took multiple attempts with the key card almost every time. Although the hotel is supposedly non-smoking, people were smoking on the pool deck. The checkout experience was the worst part. The front desk initially refused to provide me with a receipt and told me to just leave the keys in a box. Thankfully my husband insisted because we then discovered we had been overcharged by more than $220. When I questioned it, I was first told it was Expedia’s fault and that I had to handle it through them. Only after I pulled up the full Expedia price breakdown myself did they finally refund the incorrect charges as we were overcharged by $60 per night. Make sure you review your bill carefully before leaving and insist on getting a receipt."

Blue Spring Inn Orange City
4/10 Poor
"You get what you pay for, and clearly this was the least expensive option. There’s a reason for it. There were bugs on the floor crawling around. The light switch didn’t work, and overall if felt dingy. But…. It was half the price of the next cheapest option."

Traders Inn Beach Club
