"The hotel was on a nice beach. It could be viewed from the pools as well.
The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel was quiet and peaceful. The frozen peach daiquiri was amazing. The bed was very comfortable.
Negatives: Room service was frequently difficult. You have to scan a QR code to access the menu. It wasn’t easy to view on a phone. Even though you can only see the menu online, you can’t order online. You have to connect with a main number and then get transferred to room service to order. More than once the order wasn’t correct. For instance they forgot to include the blue cheese dressing with the chicken wings. I wasn’t able to connect with room service afterwords to correct the situation. I ended up eating cold Buffalo wings with nothing to dip them in. Disappointing. I had other problems with room service. Sometimes they didn’t answer the phone. I got cut off a couple of times. Very frustrating. I didn’t like how much they pushed you to book tours etc. I couldn’t walk down the main hallways without someone stopping me to try to sell me a tour or service. The checkout time was at 10 am. That’s at least an hour earlier than other hotels. The check in time was late too."
Hotel Riu Palace Las Americas - Adults Only- All Inclusive
8/10 Good
"The room was cleaned good, but the shower cabin should be renovated.
Staff is helpful, polite and hospitable.
Breakfast is OK . It would be more convenient if guests could make tea themselves not waiting until waiters ‘d bring it.
The last night of our stay was quite noisy because of neighbors who were coming back late and clapping the doors.
All in all the rate can be 4,6"
Hotel Riu Palace Kukulkan - Adults Only - All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"I love it, love it. I have a gluten allergy and I was more than accommodated. The buffet had allergy labels which made this much easier for me. The food was delicious, the entertainment was good and the property was really clean. I enjoyed the late night coffee spot in the lobby area especially the hot chocolate. My only issue was the beach which they had no control over. The waves were really high and so we did not get a change to go in- I was too scared. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and great size. I loved the garden tub and yes we used it several times. My biggest joy was that it had a more mature crowd and so it was not too noisy. The restaurants were all in the same area which made it accommodating. Overall, an excellent choice for a vacation."
"It was okay, food is good , the place is clean.
Staff were great and accommodating. IRD or in room dining is slow. AVA is huge, long and depending on where your room is, you might have to walk a lot to get to your favorite restaurant. The Food District is at the end of the South side. It seems like they’re almost done building another Food District on the North side.
Everything is indoors (feels like a mall) with the exception of few food pods outside till 5:00pm.
After dark there is nothing happening outdoors. Activities and shows don’t match the resort capacity. Reservations are required for most activities and kids area along with popular restaurants (Livo, BlackIron, Kita & Veranda)
Beach is private but like most beaches full of sargassum and not suitable for swimming.
Over all was good and might get better in a year or two once they address few issues and
finish building other areas.
Lastly, their Legendary vacation club make non-members feel uncomfortable and less valued."
Haven Riviera Cancun - All Inclusive - Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"The staff are the stars that make this hotel such a great place to stay. The hotel is extremely well maintained and gives a feeling of quality and style. Most of the à la carte speciality restaurants were very good with an extra nod to Satu which we ate in three times it was so good. One slight issue was that on occasion one or two of the restaurants were closed limiting the choice available. However the food is excellent. The weak link would be the “Italian” Vora Mar that does not give off the vibe of an Italian restaurant and the food is not up to the quality of the others. Special mentions to Blanca for her service around the pool, Cesar for his energy and making our nights at Satu very special, and Felix and Arturo at Flavours for keeping our coffees and wine glasses filled. Thanks. A great hotel and will be recommending to friends and family."
