"Tremendous experience, staying in a historical classic in Colombo. The hotel is showing its age but if you are a traveler looking for unique experiences this is an opportunity to stay in an unspoilt/un modernized colonia era masterpiece. I would stay here again. Colombo is a very safe city and the hotel is conveniently located for walking, or short tuk-tuk rides to other attractions and especially Fort Railway Station. "

"I stayed CityRest Fort only 6 hours to take a shower and short nap for catching a mid-night flight. I booked a bed in Shared 4 Beds Dormitory. I checked in at the front desk and went into the room... I noticed there was nobody in the room! The man at the front desk was nothing to tell me but he arranged a sort of private room for me! I was able to relax and rest very well. Thank you so, so much for your angement. I'll definitely come back to CityRest Fort when I come to Colombo next time."

Do not use the tuk-tuk drivers outside the hotel, or believe anyone who tells you “today is a special day”These people are nothing to do with the hotel. Solo women travellers especially beware "
