Property is a bit tired, some of the furniture couches chairs worn. However the hotel was clean and welcoming. Possibly introducing a continental breakfast would go down well. I would possibly stay again. Easy walk to town centre.

Ease of parking, excellent dinner, lovely staff and a spacious room made for yet another extremely pleasant stay. Vanessa and the other dining room staff coped admirably with the additional presence of a very large number of cyclists and support teams on the first night that were involved in a high profile race.

Nice old hotel in beautiful grounds and parking for your car was very good, the staff in the restaurant were very friendly and efficient and the 3 course dinners were excellent. We had a great room overlooking the gardens the room just needed updating they kept it clean and nicely maintained. Would definitely recommend and go again, it was within easy walking distance to gardens, shops and Derwent water.
