"Large good room, friendly staff"

"For a 3 star hotel this ticks all the boxes great value excellent breakfast and a lovely set dinner menu that changes daily. Lovely friendly but professional staff and quiet location but still less than a 5 minute walk to town. You do need to book for dinner as this is a very popular restaurant. If I could find one fault it would be on a personal opinion only and that is that dinner service is to quick between courses but that’s because I like each course to go down before the next is served....

"First impression of the hotel at check-in was exceptional- Stephen was very welcoming and friendly, and we knew it was going to be an incredible stay! In fact, encounters with the staff from bartender, restaurant and housekeeping were all friendly, engaging, and positive. The location was serene and relaxing with incredible 360-degree views of mountains and pastures! Inside, there were several cozy areas to relax and unwind. I would also recommend booking a dinner reservation for fine dining as...

"The guesthouse was in a fantastic location right in the centre of Keswick. Kevan & Xueyan were wonderful hosts, very friendly and always happy to give helpful recommendations for local hiking routes. The rooms and bathrooms were cleaned daily, and each morning I enjoyed a delicious homemade breakfast."

"Whilst my room was small, it had all I needed. The highlight was the staff: reception and bar/restaurant staff were excellent. Polite, attentive, efficient. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice. The restaurant menu for dinner was ok but sometimes a wider simpler choice would have been nice."

"Home away from home. Spent Christmas with my teenage daughter and dog at Maple Bank and it was the most wonderful few days! Kate is a super host, making sure everything was perfect for our stay. Most gorgeous guest house, amazing breakfasts and the best cake in the afternoons. Easy walking to great pubs and walks. Will definitely stay again. "

"A beautiful B & B run by Karen in a tiny hamlet near Keswick. The room was delightful with comfortable bed and furnishings that matched the age and style of the building perfectly. Lovely view from the window over Karen's wonderful garden with, at the time I stayed, a hen with 8 tiny chicks. Parking was easy and the breakfasts filling and delicious. A wonderful stay in the Lake District."
