"Excellent food, attended a wedding function and tbh the staff looked overrun. Although the day was in general was excellent. Rooms not available for all guests until 15.00. This meant if travelling to a function from distance, there was very limited changing facilities. Think it could be better if there was an area that people could get changed in. That apart would recommend the hotel, as found the bedroom and facilities excellent."

"Great location just yards from the beach, as base for visiting nearby attractions such as bamburgh castle and Cragside. Rocky in parts but otherwise golden sand beach and again short walk to Seahouses. Just lovely seaside resort. Hotel staff friendly and food excellent with choice of dining room or lounge to relax. "Location is great with lots of free parking options nearby including EV chargers. The room and bathroom were spacious, clean and warm. On the downside was the fact that our room was just above the pub and on Saturday night was very loud until midnight and we couldn’t sleep. So make sure to ask for a room on higher floor. Regarding the breakfast one day we had the eggs Benedict which were not good as the hollandaise sauce was too watery, scrambled and bland. The 2nd day we had the English...

"Easily the best accommodation of a four-day stay in Northumberland. Everything in the Whittling House makes your trip a little bit better, from lovely staff to beautiful decor, homemade shortbread for the rooms to the comfy armchairs in the bar. Definitely worth the more premium price!"
