"The bed was comfortable and the bedding was lovely. The en-suite bathroom smelt of mould, was extremely tiny, as was the hand basin. Also the shower door kept jamming. The heating would not work, despite the temperature being only 15 degrees, although staff rectified very quickly. We lost Netfix and despite request, this was not rectified. On a more positive note, the food was lovely, the staff friendly and the pub was well located. "

"Hotel is beautiful and everything is super chic.. loved our stay, staff very helpful and the areas to chill, drink, eat and relax are good. Swam in pool and lake, also arrived to a beautiful plate of chocolates for our wedding anniversary, lovely treat.. will be back for a girls retreat next time … a wonderful stay .. xxxx "

"The staff were amazing! The basement room we stayed in needed a complete overhaul. The furniture was from the 70’s as was the hair dryer attached to the bathroom wall. Although the bed was very comfortable! We were directly below the check in desk so when anyone arrived or left you could hear loud footsteps on the wooden floor above. Complimentary tea, coffee, shower gel were limited to one bag/ sachet per person. There was no shampoo or conditioner. Breakfast was fine but small. Off street parking was useful. The garden was large but full of rubbish. Overall a little disappointed for the price we paid. The hotel seemed to be skimping on the basics."

"The description says 'secure, on-site parking'. This is a lie. When asking the caretaker of the property, she looked confused, said there is no parking included, but that we could park on the street if we could find a bay. There is a multi-story that you can pay to park in a short walk away. So don't expect secure on site parking. Otherwise, standard issue guest house - thin walls, thin mattresses and run down, but clean and cheap. The code to get back in didnt work which was a pain. The caretaker was lovely."

"Booked 2 rooms, neither of them had hot water so couldn't have a shower in the morning. When i brought this up to reception in the morning, they acted shocked and surprised. I then pointed out to them reviews from other guests complaining of the same thing, some as far back as 2 years ago and some very recent, so clearly not new information to them. Im sure they will reply to this review saying 'we apologise for the inconvenience, and we will endeavour to fix this problem'. How about fix it years ago when the first person complained? I cant be fun to keep pretending this is new to you and to keep giving refunds because of it "
