"Our room had a sliding glass door to an outdoor patio on their courtyard that included a large pool, hot tub, fireplace and screen for showing movies. That made the stay special."

"It was clean, but ac was falling off the wall. The bathroom didn't have fan."

"Great rooms and heated pool just wish they had a ping pong, billiards table or a dart board just to have more things to do in the hotel."

"Like the room we get on the 4th floor. Staff is always friendly and helpful. As well as the maid service.. very nice and accommodating. Everything was excellent and on time.. one thing..the lighting in the bathroom is not that great..wish that could be better..but not a deal breaker..or the full length mirror should have a light on it.. as well.. otherwise fantastic stay..we stay here twice a year!!!"

"I recently stayed here for a mini vacation and was satisfied with the location of the hotel. Being able to walk to Shelter Island and restaurants from the hotel was an important reason for booking here. I'll be sure to return again in the future, but will request a second floor room. The only slight with my stay was being on the first floor, hearing children constantly running or playing in the room upstairs. If you can get a room by the pool, do so because the parking lot is busy at all times...

"So convenient, great staff, excellent shuttle service, clean hotel I was very impressed."

"I We really liked our stay. The breakfast actually has improved since we last stayed 2 years ago. Free parking is a great perk too. The only things we didn’t like was the bathroom sink area was too small and the TV channel offerings were not good. I didn’t care for the stations. My husband only watched the news a few times and had to use his phone to watch anything else."

"The room was very clean and the staff were very friendly, approachable and courteous. We enjoyed our stay there."

"The AC was not functioning and no one was notified after booking to give people an opportunity to rebook somewhere else. My room was then switched to a room with a portable AC unit that was duck taped to the window and kept falling off. The window had to be opened the entire time which let in a bunch of noise. However it was clean and the balcony and courtyard was well maintained. The food in the restaurant wasn’t the best either but it was quick for a small kitchen."

"The hotel is in a beautiful location, and some of the newer rooms are much more comfortable than the older ones. However, the price is higher than what the overall experience justifies. The common areas could be better maintained, particularly the hot tub, which was not as clean as expected. The service was average and did not consistently meet the standards one would expect at this price point."

"The staff really are the hidden gems of this modest hotel. They adjust breakfast hours, hold mail, and will do anything to make your stay better. The hotel is old, there are flies if you leave your window open, and the cable is iffy. But the staff gets five stars."

"Beautiful Hotel! Great pool, hot tub, outdoor game area, gym, and bikes with one hour free. Great views! Will return if I come back to San Diego."
