"We recently stayed at Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui and loved our entire experience. When booking, I was considering the Anantara or Garrya. After having dinner at the Anantara, so glad we chose the Garrya and didn’t fall for the white lotus hype of Anantara. We stayed in a beachfront villa overlooking the ocean and pool. Spacious, beautiful, peaceful and private. All 5 of our senses, from sight and taste to smell and feeling were so well catered too. Food and drinks were amazing at the restaurant....

"My day was pleasant enough. The property is right on the beach, which is a good thing. Unless you book a deluxe room, you were unable to use the pool. The property is old and dated, but the level of maintenance is reasonable. When you leave the property to go for a walk, you must take your key with you. "We were greatly disappointed upon arriving at Deva - our Expedia booking has stated private tub and balcony, neither of which was included in the standard room. It also stated free beach shuttle but this also did not exist. Staff spoke very minimal English so you could not ask any questions. The pool closed at 7pm, which was disappointing. "We were disappointed overall, and do not feel this property lived up to the Ritz Carlton brand. It is a large property, well maintained, with spacious rooms, but we didn’t feel there was anything unique in the style of the buildings…..it didn’t feel like an authentic Thai experience. The lobby and restaurants are not air conditioned, and it was hot with lots of mosquitoes. The breakfast buffet was great, but our dinners were mediocre and we had to fight the bugs and could not enjoy our meals. ...

"Absolutely loved our stay at Secret Garden and honestly struggled to find anything to fault. We stayed in one of the poolside bungalows which was incredibly spacious, spotless and set in such a beautiful, relaxing setting. Being only around 10 minutes from the airport made transfers so easy, but once you’re there it still feels peaceful and tucked away. The food was some of the best we had during our Thailand trip and the atmosphere in the evenings was lovely too — live music, themed food...
