It had all the essentials as well as a washing machine (the drying process was a bit traditional but again we didn’t mind) and the receptionists (especially Hiro) were very accommodating and amazing! "Kumano house is cozy, clean and organized, and I loved all of the information provided for places to eat and visit. I was caught off guard with the rooms being on the 2nd floor and the steep stairs was burdensome with elderly family members in our party. We made it work and we enjoyed living in a typical home in Japan. Uber transportation were hesitant in traveling down the lane to the house but we also made that work. My group really enjoyed our time here at Kumano House. "

"The Abita is a boutique type hotel in a central but relatively quiet location in Kyoto. The room amenities and fittings were top rated with nice artwork touches. The staff and systems showed good management and effort to assist the guests stay. The location was good, easy walk to local subway station and further walk/subway ride to restaurants/nightlife and daytime sightseeing activity. Highly recommended for above average hotel stay in Kyoto. "

"Great property with a nice room. Location is nice and local, near good spots but not right in the middle of the chaos. Feels like a nice retreat. There is no staff onsite so if this is something you need be aware. Communication is via email or phone and replies from the property can be very slow & sometimes clunky or confusing. Overall would recommend."
