"Great hotel with nice amenities – multiple pools, sauna and cold plunge (though the rooftop jacuzzis and cold plunge weren't open), good gym, spa, and cowering space.
The cafe was excellent: good and healthy food and drinks, with fantastic service. (Shoutout to Doddy who was a level even higher!) The rooftop bar was okay, but less good. We never ate in the restaurant as there was an awful smell (seemingly from the open ceiling toilets).
The free evening cocktails was a nice idea / touch, but honestly they weren't great or even seemed like they had much alcohol in. We never received the in-room cocktails which were promised. The mini bar "fridge" wasn't cold at all, which was quite disappointing TBH. The "free mini bar" was simply 6 small cans of Coke and Tonic water (non-replenished during your stay).
Place was generally clean, tidy, and reasonably kept. But there were issues: Worst being the smell of sewerage on the back of estate, particularly close to the pool next to the river / the sauna and plunge. There are limited numbers of sun loungers, but plentiful old-style sling deck chairs – which look lovely, but aren't really sufficient for a full day of sun lounging. If you want to sunbathe you need to rotate around the pools to catch the sun, and unfortunately the best pool (next to the bamboo lounge) only gets a sliver of sun during the day. There's no pool service (but room service by WhatsApp to the pool available) even though a swim up bar. No-one monitoring towels."
