"We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Riu Palace Maspalomas. The location is fantastic—just minutes from the beautiful Maspalomas Dunes. From our room we had a gorgeous view overlooking the pool, the green palm trees, the sweeping sand dunes and the sea in the distance. The room itself was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. "We had a poor experience and multiple issues with our room and were informed by reception, "sorry, this is the standard".... 1) I accept not all rooms have a sea view, but ours was looking into a cliff face with virtually no natural light entering the room... For 230 euros! The room felt like a utility closet that had been repurposed. Unacceptable. 2) The room had a mouldy, putrid smelling AstroTurf 'terrace' that faced said cliff.
