"We stayed overnight at The Gateway Inn for a nearby family function and it was absolutely lovely - we wish we could have stayed longer and definitely intend to come back. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the rooms and bar/restaurant are all comfortably and beautifully finished. "Excellent room, we had an executive suite and the view was marvellous as was the huge four poster bed. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best we've had, proper cumberland sausages - what can I say!. Staff were also excellent especially Joanne the manager who went above and beyond to make our 4 night stay very enjoyable. We had 2 meals in the hotel pub and again the food was of a very high standard, one meal was a sunday roast which I found absolutely superb. Will definitely stay here...

"Bathroom needs more water dripping."

"House is clean and tidy. The kitchen has everything we need. Water pressure and temperature in all bathroom are perfect. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The heater in ground floor got very loud noise after few hours central heating been turn on. Need to turn up the heating,(e.g. from 0 to 2, from 2 to 3)to stop the noise. There were high pitch "beeps" from ground floor which woke everyone in house at 3am and 3:30am on the first night. Sounds like the smoke detector but we were not sure. However,...

"My sister and I enjoyed our one night stay. We needed a little recuperation and this did the trick. The staff work very hard. We had dinner and it was delicious 😋."

"Open kitchen, dining and living room, bathroom are very clean. Bedrooms are fairly clean, may improve for cleaning of the beds. A few hinges of the cabinets for clothings need to repair. WiFi and TV are excellent. The house and facilities are family friendly, except that there is no dishwasher, no box tissue, no kitchen paper and only 1 roll of tissue paper was provided for 5 persons for staying 4 days/3 nights."

"It was a clean and convenient property for visiting Windermere. But the room was very small, smaller than I expected it to be. Also, a major problem was that the room was far too hot. The radiator in the bathroom one could not turn off at all and, although I managed to turn off the radiator in the bedroom, it was still very hot in the property. But our host was helpful and welcoming, and the location was perfect for us."
