Les Eyzies Visit
We had a lovely stay. Our room was great and the staff, especially the afternoon reception clerk was wonderful. Not only did she acclimate us to the hotel, she helped carry our bags, and she helped plan the things we did while we were in the area. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was super. Highly recommend!
This property was charming and the staff were all so friendly and attentive! Room was spacious and I do love how the French separate the toilet from the bedroom and shower room! I just wish the tv had more English channels but we did not come there to watch TV anyway! And the hotel was walking distance to small shops and other restaurants. I would definitely stay here again!
A nice hotel well located in Les Eyzies. Parking is onsite and easy. Room was spacious and well appointed. There is very nice pool outside. On site there is a gastronomic restaurant and around in the village many dining options. There is a lot to see around both in Les Eyzies and within a 25 km radius. The town of Sarlat is close, a good destination.
The hotel is to be applauded for their efforts to reduce plastic even using soaps without coverings and cotton laundry bags. The property is charming and the hosts were lovely and helpful. Beds were comfortable. My only quibble was we had a suite, not in the main building, and it smelled a bit musty though from the changing season or from lack of use I couldn't say.
The young French staff were excellent. The French have a reputation for being unfriendly well you can forget that nothing too much trouble for this lot
Excellent welcome with drinks waiting for us on arrival. Outstanding staff and beautiful large room with large balcony. Plenty of seating areas to enjoy a drink in excellent surroundings.
Hotel itself is right in the town with easy access to areas of interest. The restaurant is outstanding. The food, ,,, what can I say. !!!! Why this guy does not have at least one Michelin Star is beyond me. The menus offer a selection of wines with each course and it is well worth trying it out. You won't be disappointed. Not cheap but then you get what you pay for.
We would definitely recommend this hotel for both the staff, the rooms, the food and the environment.
Congratulations to the team.
We stayed at the hotel for six wonderful days. Chloe the owner and her staff were friendly and helpful, the food was lovely, the pool area relaxing. Highly recommended
A++ for efforts and for good intentions. They want to do the best possible and you can feel it. However requests are not transmitted, they forget little things, like milk for the breakfast tray and others. We also didn't get much help when we wanted to eat in our room. One night they offered a dish of fish but the second night we had no solution. But the absolute worth thing for us was the lack of an elevator. They brought the luggage up which was good, but travelling with a 90 year old parent, this was very hard to manage. Whether Hotels.com or the hotel should make that clear in the description of the amenities or lack of. Another low point is the second restaurant where the menu offers only board munchies, whether cheese, cold cuts, smoked fish or vegetables. I guess they want the guests to patronize their gastronomic restaurant. But the thing is some people dont want to eat that much. Sometimes all you want is a good salad.
On s'y sent à l'aise.
Hotel Centenaire is a lovely hotel in Les Eyzies. It is expensive, but is worth it overall. The rooms are great (we had a family room with 2 rooms in a suite). The pool is amazing. The restaurant is excellent, great food and service (expensive again but worth it).
Our only -ve comment is that we had breakfast one day and it wasn't great. They were understaffed, we received poor service and weren't offered the croissants etc that other tables we noticed had. Overall it left a bit of a bad taste. However, in Les Eyzies there are numerous places to eat breakfast.
Bravo, on reviendra !
