Pros: Has a clean pool, food quality is good. Location is about a 20min walk to the marina with shopping and restaurants. Provides an option not to choose all inclusive which is a lot cheaper. Cons: At least 30 min wait for all the restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so don't expect to just walk into the buffet or restaurant like most all inclusive because you have to wait to be seated even for the buffet. Service can be very slow, depending on the server you get. We waited a hour for the buffet dinner with show only to be told it was full, went to another restaurant and waited 15 mins and was told that was full, so we went to the 3rd restaurant, was seated after waiting for 15 mins then had to wait 20 minutes before our waiter came to take our order, despite us flagging down nearby waiters and told to wait. Can't get into the dinner buffet where the show is unless you line up before they open. You always have to wait for a bill after every meal asking for gratuity even if you have all inclusive. We've been to many all inclusive resorts and this is the first time we encounter this. Excursions booked through the resort is expensive because the resort gets a cut. For ex: the resort charges $25 per person to book a boat to lover's beach but it's only $10 if you book at the Marina. It's the same "glass bottom" boat which is a small piece of plastic on the floor of the boat. Not a good resort if you want an "inclusive experience, like the ones you find in the Caribbean.

The staff were friendly and the property was in nice condition. The pool and beach were really nice and comfortable, even in January. We look forward to our next trip to Villa del Palmar!

Overall, our stay was good, but the service fell short of expectations. The hospitality felt inconsistent, with staff appearing more task-focused rather than genuinely welcoming or happy to serve guests. Despite this, we still made sure to leave decent tips out of respect for their work. One noticeable issue was the long wait times when trying to place orders for food and drinks. Service often felt slow and lacking attentiveness. At one point, I even asked a bartender at the tiki bar if he was happy with his job, as it wasn’t reflected in his demeanor—there was a clear lack of smiles and engagement. On a positive note, the cleanliness was exceptional. The villa was maintained impeccably and truly stood out during our stay. However, given the overall service experience, we would not choose to return.

We opted for the all inclusive plan. It's a little confusing once there, because they have to cater to others NOT doing all inclusive or on a meal plan or time share holders. So you have to sign a check for every "purchase" you make. I have double checked our credit card account to make sure that no charges have been made, as they hold a card for $10,000 pesos (approx $563 usd) for damage deposit. No charges, just confusing and a little nerve racking. Made it somewhat hard for me personally to relax. The rooms were nice! Just remember to put the do not disturb sign out whenever you are in your room. Housekeeping would come frequently to ask about refilling towels and to clean, all houra of the day and night. If you don't answer immediately on the 2nd knock, they come in. One night we were all in bed sleeping, the other my kids were just getting changed for bed. The resort is very nice and clean. Their food is all amazing! Even our picky eaters loved it all! Staff were all so nice and accommodating.

The renovations to the property are absolutely stunning. Huge difference from previous. The landscaping is gorgeous. My only issue is we’ve been coming to this resort for many years sometimes 2 to 3 times a year and within the last year or so the Starbucks that’s inside of the little market has doubled in price for drinks I went and purchased two grande iced caramel macchiato’s and my US price was $38.50. We went into town to Starbucks by the marina and drinks were normal price we actually ordered two Vente iced caramel macchiato’s and it was roughly US$15 like I mentioned already that years past drinks were normal price. It is truly outrageous how they’re charging that much for drinks. I get it’s a convenience of having it there, but they have never charged that much previously. Here’s a picture of what prices should be and you’re definitely not getting charged that.

We loved our stay at Villa del Palmar. The property has recently been remodeled. The pool areas and restaurants are great. The food is excellent and the restaurant views are spectacular. We will definitely recommend family and friends to stay here.

Took an anniversary trip to Cabo and stayed at Villa del palmar resort for 5 days. We had a good time and enjoyed the resort very much! Overall, we felt safe at all times, food and drinks were excellent! We did the all inclusive and it was totally worth it! Staff were super friendly and helpful. We have recommended this stay to friends and family.

The property is beautiful! We stayed at Villa del Palmar and were told we would be able to use the facilities at Villa del Arco. We were also told the restaurants at those hotels would be included in our all inclusive. They were not included. We were not allowed to use the pools at the other property. Restaurants were offered at a 20% discount. Our beach was only roped off one day out of 7 days and there were not chairs to sit on except for that one day. We were not permitted to use the chairs at the other properties that did have them roped up and available for their guests. The food at Villa del Palmar was wonderful! The service at the restaurants was great! The property is easy to get to and in a great location. It is very easy to either use hotel transportation or uber from the property. The pool games/ activities were so much fun! The evening shows were superb (make sure you line up early to be seated). The kids club books up fast, but the kids seem to have a blast. My son (8) loved the day that he went! The rooms were clean and ours had a magnificent view. Housekeeping came daily and left everything feeling clean and fresh. They did an awesome job! The honor bar restocks daily which my kids loved!!! A lot of things are misleading and it would’ve been better to just know it from the start. This is not like other all inclusives when it comes to tipping. Tipping is expected and for the most part did not seem to be appreciated.
