"The bathroom was clean, and the bed sheets were clean, with a lovely smell even in the morning. Heating was on all night, so it wasn't cold in the morning, and after skiing at Glenshee, that warmth was lovely. The fireplace downstairs was so good, and we had a nice chat and watched TV. The restaurant offered a variety of foods, beverages, and delicious desserts. A+ for the restaurant! However, based upon our experience the only time I would stay again would be in high summer. Room #6 was freezing. And the Dimplex electric wall-mounted heater was pitiful. It would only operate for 90 seconds before...

"Staff was great. They were rolling out a soft start after a kitchen remodel and handled it well. Setting is beautiful, rooms were clean but views out the window need refresh as we looked into an unmaintained garden area. Doors could be repainted in the public areas esp the bathroom. Drinks on the lawn watching the sunset was fantastic. Would recommend and stay again."

I don’t understand how a big hotel chain can justify this as a 4 star? The place was dirty, the furniture tired and you could see paint coming off. Let’s not try and pass it as a character property. It needs investment and serious refurbishment as it’s currently a very old and not looked after b&b than a 4 star boutique. "
