Royal Kona Resort
8/10 Good
"Great location - easy to walk to "downtown" area but not so close that you had to listen to all the traffic and noise at night. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Dennis, at the pool, was very personable! The room was spacious and the A/C worked well. The room was a bit dated and worn but was comfortable with ample places to put our things. We had a partial ocean view and could see the luau area from our balcony. The fitness room was in the south building and when we arrived, there was water leaking from the ceiling and the ceiling tile was about to come down. I informed the front desk and they had someone over there immediately. The only issue I had with the property was the lack of parking on nights of the luau. Since I'm paying for parking, I expected a parking space. When I came back to the hotel there were no spaces and I was told my options were to park in the alley area by the hotel (it was full) or along the Alii'i Drive (it was also full). So I had to drive around for 20 minutes waiting for the luua to get over to get a parking spot."

"Great location."

Kona Coast Resort
10/10 Excellent
"This is our third time staying here. We love how spacious the room is. The bedroom, laundry, dining area, second bathroom, kitchen, and balcony really make for a relaxing homey stay. The only thing that could be better is if we could get a room with an ocean view someday. Those seem to be reserved for Timeshare owners. The location is great too, just up the hill are some nice restaurants and down the hill is Kahalu’u beach and 20min south is Kona coffee country! We’ll be back!"

Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa

"No complaints in anyway. Excellent all around. Location, lagoons, beach, all good"

Four Seasons Resort Hualalai
8/10 Good
"The property is beautifully maintained and very serene. I loved being close to both the ocean and the pool with the little one being the priority. The staff go above and beyond and the kids camp was wonderful for my granddaughter. Areas that need improvement, the good is not of the caliber it should be. Management spoke to me and I know that they are trying, but it was a disappointment, especially when you’re so far from other dining establishments. Housekeeping also fell down in quality after the first 4 days. Coffee supplies but refilled, towels not replaced and the room wasn’t cleaned or vacuumed on several occasions. One day, the room was made up and turn down showed up at the same time, 4:30. Overall, a beautiful property"

Hilton Waikoloa Village

"If you have young kids, this is hands down one of the best resorts. Our kids had an absolute blast, and there were so many activities that kept them entertained throughout our stay. My biggest complaint was the food. The quality didn’t match the high prices, and we found most of the meals to be pretty underwhelming. We ended up leaving the resort to eat for the majority of our trip. I also wish there were more dining options on the property, as the selection felt limited. A full-service room service menu would be a great addition as well, especially for families with young children after a long day at the pools. If the dining experience were improved, this would easily be a five-star resort for families."
