"We had an amazing last minute stay at The Galaxie. Whilst there was a £15 charge for parking, was convenient, off the road at the back of this lovely presented and 'quirky' hotel. Enjoyed a really warm and relaxed greeting on arrival and we were shown to our room during which the free pick your own sweet selection was pointed out to us. Our standard double room which, whilst not large, was well decorated with nice furnishings. Breakfast was amazing and very good value with an array of fresh fruit and yoghurts, fresh breads, fresh juices and, even though advertised as continental, also had English cooked breakfast options available. I forgot his name but the man managing the breakfast was amazing and chatty and really knowledgeable about Oxford. A 45 minute walk, on a very hot day, to the centre of Oxford but a relatively short and straightforward bus ride back on a well resourced route. Our overall experience clearly demonstrates the effort this private-owned hotel, managed by the grandchildren of the original owners, put into looking after its guests."

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Marlborough House Hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the kitchenette and bathroom are clean and well appointed, the wi-fi works well and the presence of a ceiling fan was especially appreciated on hot summer days. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs, as some rooms face the road and a pedestrian crossing that frequently beeps. But this is a small niggle in view of the convenient location near Summertown, the availability of free parking, and the warm and cooperative attitude of the staff. Highly recommended and will stay again."

"Brilliant one night stay to see a show at the New Theatre. Clean and comfortable room and bathroom with a really nice continental breakfast the next morning - the option of boiled eggs and toast was spot on. Brilliant location with plenty of weekend street parking on nearby roads and on a main bus route into city centre. We actually walked back in around 40 minutes later in the evening to stretch our legs - easy, walk. Friendly manager and lovely lady doing breakfast in the morning. Will use again next time we visit."
