"From the moment you click on the website, its premise is based on a lie, for ‘Lakeside Te Anau Accommodation’ it is not!
The room is relatively clean, no doubt helped by the bed bug warnings emblazoned on the room walls. It is rather quaint, the room decor and bedspreads reminding me of my great grandma’s place, bless her soul, with warnings about fines for not doing the dishes to an appropriate standard again reminding us of the history of a bygone era. Beware of breaking the rules as you...

"This was ok. We had to change our plans last minute so had to book late. This was no fuss. Thank you. Heat pump running all night downstairs was a bit distracting. Neighbour's talking on phone outside until 9.30pm annoying but not your fault. Staff issues so we never actually met anyone from there but that was OK. Extensive renovations going on at the moment (Sept 2026)which was a worry at first but it didn't affect us."

"Great spot to look out over the water and mountains. A couple of things that weren't so great were: the shower leaked really badly all over the floor and there was no extra drain the the bathroom to catch any of it. Also couldn't use the TV as I think the battery remote was flat. Could turn it on from the TV but couldn't do anything without the remote. It was later at night that we discovered this."

"The owners checked us in and were extremely helpful with dining options.
The room was nice. Ours was small but comfortable, although the furniture was a bit dated.
Be sure to bring your wine glasses if you drink the local wines as they are not provided in the kitchen or room. The kitchen is shared with other clients. If you need to store refrigerator items the kitchen refrigerator is bigger than your room. and the freezer is large as well. This was handy.
Housekeeping is not daily, but I’m...
