"The hotel is in a great location for navigating around DC. Bear in mind that we were there during Memorial Weekend, so we didn't experience the usual traffic. We also didn't visit the hotel bar, experience its food, or use its gym. The hotel mentions it has Pelotons but the rest of their equipment is bare minimum in terms of strength machines and free weights. The Darcy also touts that it is dog-friendly which basically means dogs are allowed to stay. They did not offer any amenities for dogs or even a welcome treat as other dog-friendly hotels tend to do. Additionally, they place guests with dogs on the second floor. I'm not sure what the other rooms were like, but our carpet was filthy to the point that I never once walked on it barefoot. It also smelled like a locker room. We were also a bit disappointed that the room didn't look like the photos you see online. The linens are the same, but the room itself is very small and the bathroom is tiny. Prepare to pay $35 per day for amenities like bottles of purified water, in-room coffee, and the gym - whether you use them or not."
"My recent stay at this property was average at best. While the facility and our room were clean—which we certainly appreciated—the room itself was incredibly basic and did not match the premium image or aesthetic that was advertised online.
The staff met minimal professional requirements; they were polite and helpful when directly asked a question, but they lacked an "above and beyond" hospitality attitude. For instance, basic amenities were not communicated to us at arrival—I didn’t even find out the hotel offered complimentary coffee and rolls until we were literally checking out.
Safety and peace of mind are incredibly important to us when traveling. The parking lot featured prominent signage stating "Park at your own risk; we are not responsible for your vehicle." Seeing that left my wife feeling unsettled and unsafe about the location of our car during the stay.
Ultimately, my expectations were much higher based on the marketing, which is likely why the final experience felt disappointing. It’s a fine, clean place if you just need a basic spot to sleep, but don't expect a premium experience."
"Loved my stay hair. Check in was easy and simple and the staff was helpful and friendly. The room was so spacious and well designed. Loved the seating areas and the multiple lighting options. Love that it’s accessible by public transit and just minutes away from DC."
"I booked an executive room and ended up regretting for the cleanness.
Cutting need to be replaced ( smell really bad), I was overcharged for the mini bar that I didn’t even touch.
Staff was rushing me out at the check in.
Valley parking prices should be posted online."
The Bethesdan Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
10/10 Excellent
"We had a very pleasant one-night stay in our room on the tenth floor. The room and bathroom were clean and well maintained. The bedding was wonderful—excellent mattress, cozy comforter, and a choice of four quite different pillows. The floor was quiet; I didn’t hear a sound until morning. If you book through a third-party, have your Hilton Honors account number ready at check-in or be prepared to pay for internet service in the room. The name on the Hilton membership/account must be the same as the name on the hotel reservation."
