"When we arrived, we were informed there would be no housekeeping in our room as we were nly there for 2 nights, but could ask for extra towels if we wanted them. In our double room, there was only one towel in the bathroom, this had a large orange stain on it. The location of the hotel was good, central. There is car parking, but it isn't cheap. "A very warm welcome on arrival, with a clear explanation given of things that we needed to know. Help offered with bags and an escort given to our more than pleasant booked room (Cathedral View). Facilities in room all that one might require, and with a comfortable bed. Very tasty breakfast options available from 07:30 am with a range of beverages. An easy check out procedure on departure. One thing that has to be said is that my partner and I found the room somewhat over warm through the night,...

"I loved the decor - quite traditional and full of character which I prefer to a more corporate style Some people might find it a little shabby, but very comfortable nonetheless, although a few minor maintenance issues like squeaky doors and wardrobe doors and missing curtain hooks, for example, could be easily resolved. Breakfast was really good and all the staff were unfailingly helpful and pleasant. Great location and great value for money. "

The standard double bed was very uncomfortable as it was combination of 2 beds joined together leaving the gap in the middle. Shower was flooded and toilet flush buttons not working properly. "The thermostat to the radiators didn’t work so we couldn’t turn the temperature down and were therefore uncomfortably hot and got limited sleep. The mattress added to the lack of sleep as it was very uncomfortable. The door to our room you could close from the inside with a hard shove but you couldn’t close from the outside so we couldn’t leave anything valuable in the room.
