"We were amazed with the condition of this 100-year-old property! The functional areas are beautifully and tastefully restored and the traditional areas are perfectly maintained. All staff members were extremely friendly and professional, and they were eager to assist in every request. Front office staff, maid service, baggage handlers, restaurant staff were all exceptional. Our stay could not have been better, unless it had been much longer!!"

"The tavern rooms are a completely immersive experience within walking to all things Colonial Williamsburg. The pool/fitness center is off site at the check in (about .2 of a mile) so may not feel as welcoming but worth it if you don’t mind walking. So much history! The grounds are beautifully kept and inviting areas throughout the grounds. We would love to come back and wish we had a longer stay!"

"Our room is extremely dirty, and made no efforts to give a new room or partial refund. Our bathroom is fairly small, but the worst part was that our shower was extremely unsafe. As soon as you stepped in you just felt it sink, like it wasn't being supported at the bottom. I was a very afraid. The water pressure was great however. "Fife and Drum is a wonderful place to stay in Williamsburg. The location is amazing because you can walk to the museums and restaurants. Check in and parking are very easy. The place itself is charming and they always have drinks and snacks available in their quaint dining area, as well as delicious breakfast options. We stayed in the Restoration room, which has somewhat odd decor, but on theme for the area. The only negative for me was the bed. The mattress was too hard for my back and it made...

"Check in staff during the evening was great. Staff in the morning was rude. Not bed bugs but other bugs like moths and spiders in room and bed. Bathroom shower was not clean and neither were some of the blankets on the beds. Not sure if it was tbe humidity but with the AC blasting it still was hot and humid inside the room and smelled like pee :(. Breakfast was fine and appreciated."

"The room appeared clean but your feet turn black from the carpet. The chain lock on the door was broken. There seem to be full time residents living there as well. This is a place to book if you have low expectations and don’t mind the dated vibe. Pool was crystal clear and well maintained."
