Our room was also very spacious, and featured a japanese style shower which was super cool (and absolutely spotless as well!). The staff was also very kind and helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here - we had a very comfortable stay as a family with a young child. The only thing to note for short stays is they have fees for housekeeping, fees for late check out, and...

"This was a unique property to stay at for our Japan trip. The property was beautiful and was definitely an experience I recommend. Staff was so helpful when first arriving. They try their best to explain things, especially with a language barrier for myself. The hospitality was exceptional. Would recommend anyone to stay here. A little far of a walk from the main station with luggage so maybe a take a taxi. And have them take you to the check-in area instead of the property itself."

"The hotel was very conviently located about a 25 minute walk from the main areas of kyoto. It was also close to the train eaten station. Overall the stay was very pleasant. The included breakfast of rice porridge was simple but nourishing. The rooms are compact and the only issue was the water temperature in the shower would occasionally drop to a colder temperature."

This is the easiest place to be in Kyoto if you want to get around. Nijo Castle, the imperial compound, is just to the north, and the Golden Pavilion is a short bus ride away. "

We also were told that we could not use the air conditioning as the functions were based on the outside temperature ie if it was cold we could use the heating, however we had 2 days which were 16 and 14 and the heating could still not be used.
