My family stayed for 12 nights and it was absolutely wonderful. Great staff, excellent breakfast and had everything we needed. It made our stay so enjoyable having the comfort of this hotel! Perfect location for sightseeing as well!
Very clean, modern hotel at a very central location in Kyoto which is 10min walk from the Shijo station. The staff is extremely polite and the service was excellent. The daily breakfast is a must have as it’s amazing!
Wonderful hotel with large rooms and a breakfast with high quality and good selection. Rooms have newer lighting system which I found very confusing at first. They need to have operation instructions. Nice lounge available during the day with free beverage and light snacks.
Great hotel, centrally located. Nice and friendly staff, very good breakfast and nice room that worked well for three people. Can definitely highly recommend!
We stayed four nights as a family of 5. Room was great, clean, functional, fresh and well cooled with an absolutely silent AC.
The afternoon activities and evening drinks and snacks were nice additional.
The hotel location was fantastic with lovely small back street right outside the door and public transport within a short walk.
We will definitely go back if back in Kyoto another time.
IT is a very good hotel, well located. I just find the breakfast price a bit salty. You do not eat all the Japanese food and so it is quite expensive. Hotel staff very kind and helpfull.

Staff was very helpful. The lobby and public areas are very clean.
I was disappointed when I got a notice saying I would be charged 3000yen a night if we continued to use the the duvet for the sofa bed. The beds are very small for an adult and child.
We opted for eco-cleaning, but the beds were only made once.
Lovely hotel in a great location - a little less crazy than central hotels.
Staff (particularly the restaurant greeters) were simply lovely! Friendly, courteous and very efficient.
Breakfast was excellent quality and great variety, well worth including in your stay.
Social hour could get a little busy (holiday weekend?) but the food and drinks on offer were excellent.
VERY happy with our Kyoto hotel choice!
Stylish hotel conveniently located with lots of small eateries and kombinis within walking distance and a large supermarket downstairs. The rooms are a good size and the beds are comfortable but could do with better pillows.
This hotel was a beautiful sanctuary in Kyoto. The foyer and lounge were spacious and luxurious, and the generous buffet breakfast and complimentary drinks and snacks in the lounge were a highlight. Our room was smaller than we expected, but everything was impeccably clean, modern and well planned. Highly recommend.
Check in - they deliver luggage to your room, nice staff
Pros- all you can drink 5-8pm, free snacks, very local and exotic breakfast, larger rooms than expected, clean
Cons- additional tax (~4$) on arrival, breakfast gets crowded early
This is my 5th time in Kyoto and Ruchmond hotel was the best one I stayed.
*Location is convenient with next door "Fresh" (Supermarket)
*Staffs are Friendly and Fluent in English
*Using check-in/out machine was Easy
*Breakfast is ONE OF A KIND!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will definitely come back again
Nice sized and comfortable rooms with a stylish reception area, daily “activities” and a “premium lounge” available to all guests with snacks and, after 17:00, alcoholic drinks. Good area of Kyoto with easy access to transport and the market. Only minor weakness is the lack of a hotel bar or anywhere really to sit and have a coffee or drink after 21:00 hours following a day of “temple hopping”.
