"Because it’s an old property there isn’t enough plug sockets in the room & trying to do my hair without a mirror by a socket & somewhere to sit was pretty impossible So if your not bothered with this it’s a fine place to stay Missed fresh fruit at breakfast "

"The hotel is a very short distance from the M6, which makes it an ideal stop over. The accommodation was really comfortable with lovely restaurant and bar facilities. We were made most welcome by all members of staff. Food was well prepared and nicely presented. Will definitely pass details of this place to family and friends."

"I liked so much of it. Draw back for me as a 62 yr old woman travelling alone was the dining experience. Both at dinner and breakfast I was put in the middle of the room where I felt vulnerable. I did say something but they said it was what they had available. I did book a month or two ago so this wasn’t a last minute thing. "Staff were very pleasant, friendly and exceptionally helpful. The decor in the room was beautiful and it was very clean with plenty of tea making facilities including ‘proper’ mugs and a teapot with tea cosy which was a lovely extra. However the room was very, very small and it did not have any drawers or wardrobe to store clothes (there was a small rail in the corner with four hangers to hang a few items). The en-suite was also very small but it was supplied with lovely White Company...

"Very good breakfast. Staff very helpful, friendly and polite. Good location and room, but lacking in a few basics found in other places, e.g. tissues,biscuits, safe, iron. Good value though and worth staying in. Recommend access from A6. Poor TV reception, no doubt due to location but presumably could be boosted."

"The rooms were luxuriously furnished and the hotel overall is very cosy and welcoming. Staff couldn;t do enough to help and the attention to detail was fantastic, everything from bags for walking boots to fresh milk on the landing for in room tea and coffee. A bottle of speciality beer in the room was a bonus."
