"Spent two nights because we were in the area to purchase a car. Very pleasantly surprised - the online photos didn't do justice to how lovely the hotel is. Old shoe factory and they paid homage to shoes everywhere you looked (but very tastefully done). Very clean and the staff was friendly and competent. Within walking distance to the town and other restaurants. There was a nice paved walking/biking path along the James River below the hotel - they supplied bikes and it was a beautiful ride....

"Wonderful experience. A few minutes after checking in and settling in my room I received a call from staff to make sure everything was up to standards and if I needed anything; that was a kind and much appreciated gesture. No other hotel has ever called to make sure all was ok. Bed was comfortable, room was clean. Felt safe. Great location with several restaurants and shopping within short driving distance. Coffee/machine available in lobby 24hrs, serves hot and good coffee. Only wish they...
