"The lobby is beautiful, inviting, and exceptionally well maintained. The outdoor lounge area with the fireplace was also a highlight and a great place to relax and unwind.
The location is the hotel’s strongest feature. It’s perfect for exploring Old Monterey, with Fisherman’s Wharf just steps away and Cannery Row within walking distance. There are also many nearby restaurants, cafés, and bakeries, making it easy to enjoy coffee, pastries, or a meal without needing to drive.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained.
However, the front desk staff did not provide a warm or welcoming experience during either check-in or check-out. Since these moments shape a guest’s first and last impression, a friendlier and more engaging approach would significantly improve the overall experience.
The shower had low water pressure, and the temperature was difficult to regulate, which made for a less comfortable experience.
The $30 parking fee (including taxes) feels quite expensive, especially for multi-night stays. It would also be helpful to provide clearer parking instructions before arrival, as the structure is not very intuitive. At check-in, guests should be informed about what to do if the garage is full and how to return the parking key at check-out. Unfortunately, this information was not provided. I had to step out of the car to ask for assistance while my husband waited inside, but clearer communication would have made both arrival and departure much smoother."
