Beautiful little resort just outside of the hustle and bustle of Monteverde. Owner met us to show us around the property and let us check in early. One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Beautiful property and room. Excellent food from the on site restaurant. Excellent staff. Spotless room. If we ever come back to Monteverde I wouldn’t look to stay anywhere else .10/10 all day long

This is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. Carlos is kind, attentive and very knowledgeable about the area. He clearly is passionate about Monteverde and its surroundings. He has a wonderful crew to accommodate your stay. He is an amazing chef, too. Do not hesitate to book your stay!

I highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Monteverde—especially if you have a car. This family-run B&B (hosted by a wonderful husband and wife) offers a beautiful property with acres of land to explore, giving off a charming British countryside vibe. The only downside is that it’s about a 25-minute walk to downtown, but the owners can arrange a taxi for around $10-$12. Despite this, the peaceful and tranquil environment makes it worth it. Breakfast is fantastic, and you can watch birds feed as you enjoy your meal. On our first day, the owner even drove us into town, where everyone seems to know each other, and they provided great local recommendations. Honestly, I wish we had stayed an extra day just to soak it all in. If you’re coming to Monteverde, do yourself a favor and stay here—you won’t regret it! And if you do, leave a comment under my review (though I highly doubt you’ll have anything negative to say!).

Home away from home

This place is a true gem. Carlos, Paula, Adriana and staff made sure we felt at home. The property itself is super nice and within 3-4 minutes drive from Monteverde center. Apparently they've renovated it only a year ago. It's very spacious and well maintained. Rooms are big, very clean, and well set for our arrival. They have a nice 3 km trail that goes around their property. What makes it truly special is the love and caring from Carlos and their staff. Carlos made some really good breakfast and accommodated our dietary needs. Turkish eggs that he made for us were best ever I had. All the fruits are from their garden and very delicious. We truly felt at home, so Gracias Carlos and family.

Delightful and Peaceful BnB

Casa Batsú offers an exceptional hotel experience in a small, personalized setting. From the moment we arrived, the front desk was attentive to our needs, welcoming us with drinks, helping us set up a guided night tour (we hadn't booked ahead of time), and explaining the "can't miss" sites in the area. In terms of amenities, Batsú boasts several comfortable sitting areas to lounge around and read, drink coffee, or just watch the many birds congregate on the surrounding trees. It also has a hiking trail on the property which snakes through the forest and then down into some pasture before looping back to forest. However, our daily highlight was the leisurely and delicious breakfast cooked by co-owner Carlos, and served outside next to the garden. When we return to the Monteverde area, will we undoubtedly stay at Casa Batsú.

First-rate host and immaculate property

Carlos was the most attentive host you could ask for. One evening, he spent about an hour talking with us about the history of Costa Rica. He's also a terrific cook and the breakfasts he made were the best we had over our 2-week trip. The rooms in the main house are very nice but a little funky. There's a skylight above the bed in one of them which meant waking up with the sun. And some rooms are directly off the lobby area, so not very separated, but the place is kept immaculately clean and it's in an excellent location for getting around Monteverde. Highly recommended.
