"I don’t usually leave review but this was the worst stay I’ve ever experience. The check in instruction is horrible. It doesn’t say where we should check in and the front desk doesn’t pick up the phone when I called. It just give me the time and hour of operation and phone number. When we got there we went drive around looking to check In. During that time we went through the gated entrance which we though its part of the resort but turn out it wasn’t. "My husband and I specifically made a 3 night reservation at the Kit Carson Lodge over the 4th of July weekend because we were told by an employee over the phone that the room included a microwave and a fridge, plates and cutlery That was not true. We arrived with multiple perishables and cooked food, o find out, upon arrival, that there were neither plates & cutlery NOR a microwave NOR a fridge. "We had a fantastic stay at Black Bear Lodge. The lodge is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning wooden interior that gives it a real mountain lodge feel. It was incredibly peaceful and the perfect place to relax and unwind. The location was ideal too, tucked away in a quiet setting but only a short drive from local shops, restaurants and other amenities. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area."

"Cozy and beautiful cabin. You will really need to have a suv or any high clearance car to park in the driveway due to the steepiness of the driveway(included in the instructions.)
No air conditioning except for masters bedroom. Might be better to have portable AC in all rooms during summer. Most of of us, unable to sleep because it was hot when we went. 90s weather.
Fans are provided if needed otherwise ceiling fans are installed.

"Easy check in and out since it was done by yourself. Overall the hotel was nice, had a shared kitchen with all utensils and a stove to cook if you needed it. Front door need a seal around it, toilet seat needs tightened also toilet wobbled a little as well. Bathroom window screen needs replaced was letting in bugs.
