What a gem of a find! True to its name, this was a happy and peaceful place for the 4 days we were on Moorea. This property is very well kept and our bungalow spotless and well stocked with kitchen necessities. Loved having our own outdoor living/dining patio space and access to the pool, jacuzzi and lounge chairs to enjoy the lovely sunsets. The daily breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. Thank you to the warm, welcoming and helpful staff of Fare Oaoa Haapiti!

This was our second stay at Fare Oaoa and we couldn’t be happier. Kathy and the entire staff are absolutely wonderful & the property is beautiful. The A/C works perfectly well, you just have to have the patio door closed.. which is a smart feature. The pool was perfect and the complimentary use kayaks & snorkel gear is a wonderful touch. And don’t get me started on the breakfast…. generous portions of fresh local fruits, delicious breads & cheese, yogurts, protein variations of egg omelettes or cold cuts & always a sweet little treat to save for later. They really think of everything and take such good care of their guests. I can’t wait to return!!

We had the most amazing stay, attention from the staff at every turn, this is so much more intimate than staying in a hotel! We loved the freshly prepared breakfast every morning, the cold swimming pool, enjoying the sunsets from our private beach, the kayaks and how much care was taken to make sure we had an unforgettable stay!! The staff was top tier! Very accommodating considering we booked 20 minutes before we got to the place. Breakfast was included which was a huge plus and it was all around very nice relaxing and clean!

Everything Was lovely here! the bungalows were clean and stocked with anything we could need. The staff was professional and friendly. We loved the kayaks, parking and breakfast. The pool and hot tub were also lovely additions to our relaxing stay. Would highly recommend.

Cute bed and breakfast. There is a market across the street. You need a rental car to stay here. It is not in a tourist area. The hospitality dog was so sweet. The kayaks were nice to use. Everyone is nice, there is a language barrier if you don’t speak French or Tahitian but that is to be expected.

Make clear to guests that beach is not conducive to swimming due to very low depth and coral that scrapes the hands and feet when trying to swim. I was mislead and persevered until I realized that depth was not going to change.

Kathy was very communicative as was Stephanie! Easy access to nearby tours and local food options. The swimming pool was getting built (should be done now) as the old one was destroyed and it was a little busy. Breakfast was filling.

OMG from the moment we arrived at were in love. What a gorgeous spot and so peaceful. Stunning beach, sunset, clean tidy accomodation. Beautiful breakfast, across the road from a store. Behind security gates. Everything we could possibly want. Would have loved to stay longer.

Tiny beach of Horrors

We tried to cancel about two weeks prior to arrival when we realized that the flight would arrive to late to catch the ferry. I had originally searched for hotels near Papeete and somehow ended up on Moorea (a nearby island). So Moorea was our first stop on our cruise and we visited the property. None of the staff spoke English so they connected us to owners wife who indicated she would contact Hotels. She, did in order to deny the refund. So we hoped to spend at least one day on the island when we found out that you have to reserve a spot on the ferry weeks in advance. Basically we were out of luck. So regarding the property.....calling it rustic would would be too kind. The kitchen shared the dining area on the patio. The beach was about 15 meters. The beach furniture was falling apart. The dinnerware was an mismatched clutter washed in a sink that I couldn't get hot water out of. I will say the the the 3 meter above ground pool and the surrounding area was thoroughly cleaned while we were there. No restaurants within walking distance, but a reasonably stocked Stop and Rob across the highway. We spent 3-4 hours there and felt fortunate that we didn't have to spend 2 nights. Book with extreme caution.

Best place to stay on Moorea

Very comfortable- much better than a hotel room. I enjoyed the outdoor covered deck, footsteps from the lagoon and kayaking. Breakfast was great. And the adorable geckos.
