Very peaceful location and style of hotel which took me back to the old days of Hawaii. Restuarant had good food, staff were super friendly and feeding the fish/easy snorkeling made our stay. Great location

We had an oceanfront bungalow and the location was great. The rooms were very nice, especially the bathroom. We only ate in the restaurant one time the food was not good. The restaurant people were unfriendly and one of the older ladies was rude.

Great location with bit of snorkeling right off the dock. Not Sofitel but also different species seen under dock (maybe even a zebra shark resting). Gorgeous big bed; big bathroom with hot water. Can walk to town for coffee or lunch/grocery store. Next door to Cook’s-polynesian dancing Tuesday pm. AC not needed but nice to remove stuffiness after hot day! Ignore older reviews! Wi-fi did quit one am, but staff worked quickly to remedy!

Our stay at Hotel Kaveka was absolutely amazing. The beachfront bungalow-style villa was just steps from the water and only a short walk to the hotel restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home throughout our stay. The hotel was worth every dollar spent, and my wife and I enjoyed some of the most beautiful sunsets we’ve seen in a long time right from the beach. If you’re looking for a relaxing, authentic Polynesian experience, this is the place to stay. Highly recommended! 🌅🏝️❤️

Tim and the team were excellent and truly cared about their guests. Food in the restaurant was excellent, snorkelling off their dock was amazing, units were clean. We stayed for nine days, wish we would have stayed longer. We highly recommend staying here. Five Stars!

We love our stay here. It’s honestly the perfect place to stay in Moorea. The staff were so helpful and lovely. Also, it’s amazing that you can wake up and just jump to do some snorkeling. It was the best snorkeling in the entire island. We saw 3 big turtles, an octopus and so many pretty fish plus the water is so calm. Their pina colada’s were also amazing. We highly recommend this place.

Our stay at Hotel Kaveka was made truly exceptional by the people, especially the front desk. We were so fortunate to be helped by Moa, who was a total wealth of knowledge. Instead of the usual tourist scripts, she gave us genuine, localized tips and clever hints that completely transformed our time on the island. The hotel itself is charming, with that authentic Polynesian feel you just can’t find at the big resorts, and the over-water dining view of Cook’s Bay is unbeatable. But it was the warm hospitality—and Moa’s expert guidance—that made this feel like a home rather than just a room. If you want a stay that combines a perfect location with a team that truly cares about your experience, this is it

Quel domage. What a shame. This hotel has the potential (and perhaps was once) a fine establishment. It appears to be in steady decline, with dated and aging decor and little obvious attempt to improve. Our shower was dirty and had mould growing when we arrived, and did not appear to be cleaned once during our week long stay. Housekeeping missed us some days and towels sometimes needed to be requested specifically. Everything costs extra, beach towels are 500 francs per towel, and require a 2000 franc deposit per towel. Meals are poor, we had one lunch which was an undercooked reheated pizza. We chose not to have main meals after that. Breakfast 'buffet' was sliced white or brown bread for toast, Limited baguettes, and jam. Some fresh fruit, but nothing was replenished once it was used. Coffee is filter coffee. This buffet was 3200 francs per person per day. We went to a restaurant nearby instead for excellent food, at a cheaper cost. The owner insists you use him to book activities - beware the hidden extra cost he does not tell you about! Each activity he books for you costs an extra 1000 francs.
