"The B&B is in a great location in Ambleside. The staff were very friendly during check in and out. The room was nice and tidy and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was really good the following morning and filled us up for the day. I would highly recommend."

"This hotel is in a great location, close enough to walk to center of village but still quiet. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable, with a great view of the surrounding hills.,( we had the star gazer room ) Breakfast was excellent! "excellent room, nice, tidy and spacious. The Bed was super comfy! Loved the drying unit outside our room door for all our wet gear in the fells - Got it dry in a few hours. Spoke to reception for some more coffee/hot chocolate and when we came back after evening meal, they were outside. Wouldnt hesitate to stay again"

"We had a brilliant stay at Melrose B&B. Our room was immaculate and had everything we needed. Staff were very helpful and parking was provided. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the food was excellent. We would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning"

"Our room was on ground floor with a hot tub. Facilities were good and the bed was very comfortable. Some elements were a little tired. Staff were outstanding and responsive to all requests and questions. Nice dining area and presentation. Great central location to Grasmere village. Our only issue is that parking can be a lottery - but staff were happy to help."
