"A large and impressive hotel with great facilities. Unfortunately, we found the bed in our deluxe room uncomfortable and creaky and the room lacked basics such as milk and cold water. The food and drinks were delicious however, and we enjoyed the pool."

"The room was lovely though the walls were a bit thin and I could hear the neighbours TV. The floors of the upstairs rooms were a bit squeaky but it was a fairly rustic building so to be expected. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The kitchens were out of order but they provided a superb continental breakfast."

"Pros:: Lovely old pub, AC worked well, great location, plenty of parking, big room and bathroom. Bed was hard, but that is personal preference. Old building is beautiful but with it comes low beams, uneven steps, etc. Con's: Breakfast seemed a bit disjointed (only 1 staff member on) kept having to find staff (same with check out) - not a huge issue as pub not that big. "Horrendous smell. Foul drains and the kitchen may have been frying in my room the smell was that strong. The walls are paper thin, if someone runs a tap the noise is piercing. Hotel is not manned most of the time. You are given an emergency number on a key ring which is not legible. I had to sleep with my nose covered because the smell was that bad. Staff were unhelpful on checkout. Expedia couldn’t get in touch with the hotel so fobbed me off. Never again"

"I really enjoyed my stay here. Its perfect if you are working away etc. Spacious accommodation with a nice shower and you can park right outside your chalet. I had a great night's sleep. No complaints"

"My room, which was beautiful, was at the front of the hotel. Given that this is the main high street area, it was so loud. There are benches outside the front and a gang of youths hung around there, shouting, making noise, throwing things till after 11pm. The road sweeper came before 6am and the hanging basket watering company came before 6am too. Given that I'd stayed the night due to an important work activity, I got very little sleep and this affected my performance. Granted, these issues...
