"If anyone is staying you should know there is only a costa coffee or McDonald's for food. Remember to bring some spare tea or coff but there is probably more if requested. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bath needs some attention around the plus as its very rusty. The view was exceptional across the lakes with lots of house martins nesting in the eves."

"Love this place! Lovely, welcoming real fires in winter. Cool outdoor area for brighter days. Spent a great couple of hours in the beer garden. Rooms clean and well kitted out. Breakfast brilliant!"

"A stunning facility in a rural property in belies the quality of this place. Check in was painless, efficient and helpful with clear directions to our room, once there WOW. Walked into a very large room with more space one would expect in a 5 star establishment. Big comfortable bed, really good bathroom and kitchen to boot. If we were going to stay in the area this would be the place to choose. Had dinner there and service was lovely, food plentiful and tasty and a pre dinner drink in the bar...

"Just spent 4 nights at the Brown Horse Inn. The staff were great. Food for breakfast and evening meal was excellent particularly the roast on Sunday. Great choice for breakfast. The Inn is very well placed to explore the South Lakes. Would happily recommend."

"Room was compact but comfortable, the bed especially comfortable. Best in room coffee ever! TV was impossible to sort out, HUGE but useless. A leak from toilet cabinet meant floor was wet most of the time, and was reported to manager, I'm sure it'll be fixed for next people. Pub is oozing with atmosphere, food is excellent. Staff are great. Somebody could pick up litter outside once in a while to improve the look."

"What a terrific spot! The bar was comfy, and cosy; the room clean, and tastefully decorated with a comfy bed, and wonderful view of the viaduct and Whernside. And, the fish & chips - exceptional! For us, the staff made our stay, Will, Courtney, Angela, & Val, couldn't do enough for us, despite a very busy bank holiday weekend. Thank you, we had a great evening and a cracking breakfast to boot."
